The House of Little Dogs
House of Little Dogs Rescue and Sanctuary rescues Little Dogs from local shelters who need help with medical or behavioral issues. We also take in owner surrenders and dogs from other rescues when we can. Our mission is to take them in, fix them up, support them through recovery, and get them into loving forever homes. House of Little Dogs also takes in dogs who are extremely aged, who have conditions that require ongoing treatment and care, and who are not candidates for adoption. For those precious pups, we provide a place where they can live out their lives with the medical care they need for as long as they need it, with lots of love and attention.
Our primary purpose is to support senior or special needs little dogs in shelters who are in need of medical or behavioral assistance. In doing so, we can provide immediate relief for the dogs we rescue and allow the shelter to divert time and resources to other dogs. The same can be said when we accept dogs directly from their owners. We provide medical care and a safe haven for the dog and prevent the dog from going to the shelter, saving the shelter time and money. That also allows us to help members of our community who need assistance rehoming or caring for their dogs.

ADOPTION
Our adoption process is simple. We ask you to complete a one-page application, which you can access here on our website. An interview will then take place in your home. There will be no adoption fee. Donations, though, are always welcome. Adoptions outside of Northwest Arkansas are not out of the question. We welcome sincere inquiries from anywhere, and we’re happy to work with long-distance applicants..
FOSTER
House of Little Dogs fosters are a special breed of human. They have the ability to see the soul within the dog crouched in fear at the back of the cage. They have the patience to nurture the trust that grows between dog and human. And they know the warm flood of joy that comes when a dog finally reaches for your hand, or when the dog sheds its cloak of pain to prance in the backyard sun. Fosters know a secret. You get more than you can possibly give.
If fostering a little dog (or the big dog that sometimes slips in) appeals to you, please message us via our contact page. We will get together to review our, and more importantly, your expectations of the relationship. For instance, we believe that fosters have earned the privilege of approving where their guests spend the rest of their lives. Logistics wise, it would work best if you are near the Northwest Arkansas area. We look forward to hearing from you
